Week-End C.I. Workshop in Leuven

Hello dear everyone of you,

It’s that time of the year again when I come for a Belgian visit…
And quite soon … !

Spontaneous visit calls for spontaneous workshop proposals…
Here are all the info you need to know :

Contact Improvisation is a dance form where moving bodies dance together through touch and shared weight.

Connecting, being one, going apart, flying and falling and so much more…

The classes :

The classes take place in a gentle and introspective atmosphere to permit us to connect with our body, learn basic techniques and explore free dance.

We will start calmly by taking the time to dive into the body, usually lying down. Using some Feldenkrais tools, developing awareness.

From lying, it evolves into improvisation exploration first alone then with a partner. With a theme, a special focus.

– That could be either a focus on life experience, philosophical questions. Evolution as a person and in a relationship with others, as feeling home, stepping back to see the whole picture, arguing, having a conversation, letting go of something, etc….

Making parallel with dancing. How we move in life, how to move alone and with a partner. What is the connection between those two, how do they affect each other.

– Or a more technical focus as supports, spirals, falling, the eyes, …
But always, making some parallels with what that means in life experience; to receive support, to fall, to see, …

Gently rising from the floor, passing by different levels, lying, rolling, sitting, all force, standing.

And through that structure, making some technique points through partnering combinations to sit knowledge, build confidence and good reflexes.

Then, we end up with free dance, letting go, washing out, enjoying how the body feels like moving after all this focus.

If you are interested in learning, developing your body awareness through dancing with others; to carry and be carried…. You are welcome !

Feel like trying ? :-)

This is an open level workshop, suiting for beginners as well as people who already have some experience in C.I..

The workshop is taught in English.

About me:
Dancer, Contact Improvisation practitioner and teacher, Feldenkrais practitioner in training, I’ve been teaching weekly classes and workshops of Contact Improvisation (C.I.) in Brussels, Leuven and Gent.
Coming from a rich dancing background, I fell in love with C.I. and Improvisation while studying in a professional contemporary dance training. I assisted Bar Altshuler (BE/IL) for two years, learned from other amazing teachers such as Yaniv Mintzer (IL), Lior Ophir (IL), Linda Bufali (IT), Alex Guex (CH/FR), Katja Mustonen (FIN/GR),… While, in parallel, studying in Feldenkrais Foundation Training with MBS in Germany.
It’s been now more than a year since I left Belgium for living in Tel Aviv, enjoying and learning from the rich C.I. Community here.
Coming back regularly to Belgium, I am happy to propose workshops to share, practice and dance with you.
